LAPD Defends Response Time For Bus Driver Attacked in Koreatown

A bus driver in Koreatown reported being terrorized by an aggressive passenger and said she waited an hour for LAPD assistance. The assailant threw bottles, beer, and blocked the bus, but the driver was told the LAPD had "other priorities" due to a child abduction and other crimes happening simultaneously. The LAPD is now reviewing its response protocols to improve prioritization after public outrage. Mayor Karen Bass recently called for a law enforcement surge to combat rising violence on the Metro system, highlighting the importance of safety for commuters.
