Park Fire Blaze Grows to California’s 6th Largest as Suspect Appears In Court
The man accused of causing the Park Fire in Northern California, Ronnie Dean Stout II, made his first appearance in Butte County court, facing reckless arson charges for the Park Fire. Witness testimony describes Stout pushing a flaming car into a gully, igniting a fire that ravaged hundreds of thousands of acres. Stout did not enter a plea and denied the witness statement, claiming it was an accident. The case has serious implications, with potential double sentencing due to his prior convictions. The next arraignment is set for August 1.
