Supreme Court Rejects Challenge to Abortion Pill

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that plaintiffs lacked standing to challenge the FDA's approval of the abortion medication, mifepristone. This unanimous decision means the drug remains available despite bans in some conservative states and recent moves in Louisiana to classify it as a controlled substance. Abortion rights advocates expressed relief, particularly given the same court’s previous decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Justice Brett Kavanaugh authored the opinion, while the court still has other significant cases pending, including one involving former President Donald Trump.
