Federal Judge Throws Out Indictments Against James Comey and Letitia James

A federal judge has dismissed the indictments against former FBI director James Comey and New York attorney general Letitia James, ruling that the Acting U.S. Attorney who brought the charges was illegally appointed and lacked the authority to prosecute the case. Attorneys for Perry Tole have filed an amended civil complaint that adds St. Elmo’s Steakhouse and its parent company as defendants, alleging the restaurant over-served former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez before the October altercation that left Tole injured. The updated filing also adds negligence and dram shop claims while expanding accusations against Fox Corp related to Sanchez’s professional trip to Indiana. Court Seals Celeste Rivas Records as Forensic Expert Challenges Rumors

A judge has sealed all records in the death investigation of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez at the request of the LAPD, blocking the release of autopsy findings and any related documents. The Medical Examiner expressed concern over the order, citing the department’s push for transparency. As speculation grows over whether the teen’s remains were frozen or dismembered, forensic death investigator Joseph Scott Morgan tells Los Angeles that such conclusions require scientific verification and that any cutting or freezing would leave unmistakable traces.
