FBI Releases Photo in Charlie Kirk Assassination Manhunt
The FBI has released photos of a person of interest in the fatal campus shooting of activist Charlie Kirk, as a nationwide manhunt intensifies. Authorities say a rifle was recovered near the Utah Valley University scene, where Kirk, 31, was killed during a public appearance. The killing has sparked bipartisan outrage, with President Trump set to posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Elex Michaelson Joins CNN as L.A. Weeknight Anchor
Emmy-winning journalist Elex Michaelson, formerly of FoxLA, is heading to CNN as the network’s new Los Angeles–based weeknight anchor. Beginning this fall, Michaelson will helm CNN’s 9–11 p.m. PST broadcast, bringing his signature coverage of Southern California’s biggest stories to a global audience. The USC graduate and Journalist of the Year honoree says the role marks a dream opportunity as CNN expands its West Coast presence.
Los Angeles Marks 24th Anniversary of 9/11 With Tributes and Service
Across Los Angeles, ceremonies and volunteer efforts honored the 24th anniversary of 9/11. Mayor Karen Bass, local chiefs, and first responders gathered at the Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center for a remembrance that included a helicopter flyover, bagpipers, and the ringing of “10 Bells.” More than 1,300 volunteers also packaged 400,000 meals for Angelenos in need, while events across the county—from Palmdale to Pacific Palisades—paid tribute to victims, first responders, and veterans.
Bad Bunny Skips U.S. Tour Dates, Citing ICE Raid Concerns
Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny announced he will leave the U.S. off his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour, citing concerns that Immigration and Customs Enforcement could stage raids outside his concerts. The reggaeton icon emphasized his love for U.S. fans but said the risks were too great amid heightened immigration enforcement. Instead, he encouraged American fans to attend his shows in Puerto Rico—his current 30-date residency—or other international stops on the tour, which kicks off Sept. 21 in Santo Domingo and runs through July 2026.
Body Found in TikTok Star D4vd’s Tesla as L.A. Police Probe Two Tow Yard Deaths
Los Angeles police are investigating two separate deaths discovered in impounded vehicles this week. One victim was found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to TikTok star and musician D4vd, who was on tour when the car was towed from the Hollywood Hills. A day later, authorities uncovered charred remains in another impounded car in South L.A. Police say the cases are unrelated but remain under active investigation.
