Downtown L.A. Icon Cole’s to Close After 116 Years

California Attorney General Says Daily Fantasy Sports Are Illegal
California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued a legal opinion last week declaring that daily fantasy sports (DFS) games violate state gambling laws, equating paid entry fees to illegal sports bets. The opinion—prompted by Assemblymember Tom Lackey—targets both pick ’em and draft-style games, stating they are “materially indistinguishable” from prop bets.
