Karen Bass Endorses Antonio Villaraigosa for California Governor

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has officially endorsed former mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in the 2026 California governor’s race. Bass praised Villaraigosa’s record of coalition-building and commitment to issues like affordable housing, safe neighborhoods, and good-paying jobs. Sen. Sabrina Cervantes Files Claim Against Sacramento Police Over False DUI Arrest

California State Senator Sabrina Cervantes has filed a legal claim against the Sacramento Police Department, alleging unlawful arrest, defamation, and retaliation after she was wrongly cited for DUI despite toxicology tests showing no substances in her system. Matthew Stafford Joins 60K Club as Rams Open Season with Win

The Rams kicked off their 2025 campaign with a 14-9 victory over the Houston Texans, but the bigger story came from quarterback Matthew Stafford, who became just the 10th QB in NFL history to surpass 60,000 career passing yards. Stafford’s milestone pass to Puka Nacua capped a strong outing that also featured Nacua’s 130-yard performance and a touchdown run from Kyren Williams. The Rams now look ahead to Week 2 on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
