Downtown L.A. Protests Lead to Over 100 Arrests Amid Immigration Raid Fallout
More than 100 people were arrested Monday as protests over federal immigration raids raged through downtown Los Angeles for a fifth straight day. The unrest, centered around the Metropolitan Detention Center and Little Tokyo, prompted the deployment of 700 Marines and additional National Guard troops. Governor Gavin Newsom’s request to block the deployment was denied by a federal judge, while Mayor Karen Bass pledged to rebuild the area and prosecute those responsible for the destruction.

L.A. DA Vows to Prosecute Protest Violence Using Social Media Evidence
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman says those behind the violence, vandalism, and looting during recent protests will be held accountable. His office is launching a full investigation and plans to use video evidence from platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to identify suspects.
