In a blockbuster $7.7 billion agreement, the UFC has partnered with Paramount to stream and broadcast all fights in the U.S., ending its long-running pay-per-view model. The seven-year deal will bring 13 marquee events and 30 “Fight Nights” to Paramount+ and CBS, a move UFC founder Dana White calls “a huge win” for athletes and fans alike. Paramount says the partnership will expand access, grow subscribers, and could eventually extend UFC rights internationally.

California Courts Enact Statewide Generative AI Rules

California has adopted a sweeping framework regulating the use of generative AI in its courts, introducing mandatory safeguards to protect privacy, ensure accuracy, and preserve public trust. Judicial officers will also follow advisory best practices to balance innovation with ethical standards, setting a potential model for courts nationwide.

While Trump cited soaring crime as the reason for federalizing the capital, police statistics show violent crime has dropped significantly in the past year. The move has drawn sharp criticism from Democrats, who question his motives amid other political controversies.

Truly LA will also scale back to weekend service by year’s end, with both spaces potentially repurposed unless a buyer steps in to save the brand.

Using the Weston James Group to conceal their identity, the investor is betting on rebuilding in one of California’s most coveted — and most devastated — stretches of coastline. As Malibu struggles with a slow and costly recovery, questions swirl over who is behind the purchases and what they plan to do with the land.
