Passenger Killed After Gunman Hijacks LA Metro in DTLA

A gunman hijacked a city bus in Downtown Los Angeles early Wednesday morning, setting off a tense, hour-long, slow-speed chase with the LAPD. Tragically, one passenger was fatally shot during the incident, while another remained unharmed and the bus driver emerged unscathed but shaken. Police were alerted at 12:45 am and swiftly responded to the scene. The bus was eventually stopped by spike strips, and LAPD SWAT teams rescued the remaining passengers and the driver. Authorities are now investigating the devastating incident.

Culver City Gun Shop Transformed by Art

Culver City's former Martin B. Retting gun shop has been reimagined as an uplifting art installation by local artist Katy Krantz. After the city bought the property for $6.5 million, Krantz covered it in floral murals and updated its messaging to promote unity. Community members can get involved by creating tiles for the project at an event on October 26. What do you think of this transformation?
