Tom Girardi Sentenced to 7 Years for Stealing Millions From Clients

Disgraced attorney and former Real Housewives husband Tom Girardi was sentenced to seven years in federal prison—on his 86th birthday—for embezzling millions in client settlement funds. A judge rejected his request for medical placement, citing signs of courtroom awareness, and ordered him to pay $2.3 million in restitution. Prosecutors say Girardi used the stolen money to fund a lavish lifestyle and support Erika Jayne’s entertainment career.

Parole Recommended Again for Manson Family Killer Patricia Krenwinkel

Patricia Krenwinkel, the longest-serving female inmate in California and a key figure in the Manson Family murders, has once again been recommended for parole—over the objections of victims’ families. The 77-year-old was convicted in the 1969 killings of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca and others during a spree that terrorized Los Angeles. The decision now awaits final review by the parole board and possible reversal by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Defense Witness Drops Taillight Bombshell in Karen Read Murder Trial

Moments after a judge denied a mistrial motion, a Dighton police sergeant delivered explosive testimony in the Karen Read trial—stating that the taillight on Read’s Lexus SUV appeared only partially damaged when he saw it, contradicting prosecution photos showing it completely smashed. The claim could undermine the state’s theory that shards from the broken taillight injured Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe before his death.
