Trump Administration Sues California Over Ban on Masked Federal Agents

The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit against California over a new state law that bans federal agents from wearing masks and requires them to display identification. Federal officials argue the measure is unconstitutional and puts officers at risk, while supporters say the state has the authority to ensure transparency as ICE activity increases across communities. The suit asks the court to strike down the law before it takes effect on January 1.

UC Workers Launch Statewide Strike Over Pay and Living Costs

More than 40,000 University of California employees are striking at 18 campuses and medical centers across the state, saying the UC system has failed to offer a contract that keeps pace with rising living costs. The union representing service and patient care workers argues that low wages have driven staff out and fueled a vacancy crisis, while UC officials claim the union is pushing for unreasonable demands that threaten the university’s financial stability. Nurses canceled a separate planned strike after reaching a tentative four-year agreement with the UC.

Patrick Beverley Arrested After Alleged Assault on Teen Sister

Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley was arrested in Houston after authorities said he choked and hit his 15-year-old sister during a 3 a.m. confrontation at the family home. A newly released affidavit alleges Beverley lifted her by the neck, choked her for up to 30 seconds and struck her in the eye before deputies arrived. He was released on bond later that day and ordered to avoid contact with family members involved. Beverley denies the allegations and the district attorney has not yet formally accepted charges.

LA County Sheriff Investigates New Sexual Assault Allegations Against Diddy

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation into sexual assault allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs after music producer Jonathan Hay filed a detailed report describing incidents in 2020 and 2021. The Florida police forwarded the case to LA authorities, prompting the inquiry while Combs remains imprisoned on federal charges. Hay, who previously filed a civil suit, says he now feels heard, while CJ Wallace, also named in the report, has filed a counterclaim calling the accusations a smear campaign. Combs’ legal team continues to deny all allegations, calling them false and defamatory.

Brian Walshe Pleads Guilty to Dumping Wife’s Body but Denies Killing Her

Convicted conman Brian Walshe stunned a Massachusetts courtroom by pleading guilty to disposing of his wife Ana’s body and lying to investigators, while still denying that he killed her. The case, which has ties to an L.A. art fraud scheme, is heading to trial on a first-degree murder charge on December 1. Prosecutors say Walshe dismembered Ana in their basement and tried to cover it up with Google searches and cleaning supplies, while key witnesses include investigators involved in several other high-profile Massachusetts cases.
