Trump Creates Task Force to Oversee 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

President Trump has signed an executive order establishing a federal task force to oversee security, transportation, and visa coordination for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Backed by $1 billion in funding from the recently passed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” the task force will be led by the president and include members of his cabinet. UPS Fined $1.7M in California Hazardous Waste Settlement

UPS will pay $1.745 million after a statewide investigation found the company improperly disposed of hazardous and medical waste at more than 140 California facilities. Prosecutors say toxic chemicals, flammable materials, and regulated medications were sent to landfills unequipped to handle them, violating environmental laws. The settlement also requires UPS to improve waste management practices and fund environmental protection efforts.

Lilo & Stitch Becomes 2025’s First $1B Film, Sequel Announced Ahead of Disney+ Release

Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch has officially become 2025’s top box office hit, grossing over $1 billion during its three-month theatrical run. The film, which broke Memorial Day weekend records, will stream on Disney+ starting September 3. Disney has already confirmed a sequel, with original co-creator Chris Sanders returning to write the script.
